## ***ENG VERSION*** Good afternoon Hivers and Liketu users! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good: rest and a weekly splurge! In fact, on Saturday I went to a place that only does meat, and we had a little bit of stuff... a maxi starter for two people and a tagliata each. There were seven of us in all, so we also got a bottle of wine, to stay light. Usually for my weekly snack I prefer pizza, very rarely a sandwich. This time my friends had chosen to go to this place and so I accepted, just for a change. The peculiarity of this place is that all the meats that are served are self-produced, well yes they have a farm and raise their own and then serve them to customers. A nice reality in my opinion that also goes against the many fastfood junk food places where we don't even know where the products come from. I must say that everything was great, but I had a hard time finishing it all. And when I say I struggled I mean I really struggled, a huge struggle. However, I also wanted to leave you with a personal reflection. I am not a vegetarian, let alone a vegan. I eat everything. But, the one thing I do care about is being environmentally friendly and sustainable. So when I can, I limit my meat consumption, be it white or red, and I prefer legumes or dairy products, and every now and then I also like to try vegetarian and/or vegan products. But I still eat meat, I am just careful not to consume too much of it and limit the damage. This is because, besides the ethical fact that many people talk about (they are animals btw), we know that for every intensive and non-intensive farming we have of animals for human consumption, the CO2 emissions into the air are of unprecedented proportions. So it would also be time to stop this pollution. Lately I've been jumping at the chance to try these new products that everyone talks about but categorically refuses: crickets. Mamma mia... crickets! Well, I'd like to try them so I can talk about them myself and get my own opinion. But I've read around that you have to start gradually, so my choice would be a baked product that uses a low percentage of cricket flour just to get started. And why not... maybe a pizza. For now it remains just an idea, albeit a crazy one, but I'm not ruling out any future possibilities. Maybe it's good... if we don't taste it we can't judge! *** ## ***ITA VERSION*** Buon pomeriggio Hivers e utenti di Liketu! Come è andato il vostro weekend? Il mio piuttosto bene: riposo e sgarro settimanale! Sabato infatti sono andato in un posto che fa solo carne, abbiamo preso un pò di roba... un maxi antipasto per due persone e una tagliata a testa. In tutto eravamo in sette, quindi abbiamo preso anche una bottiglia di vino, per restare leggeri. Di solito per il mio sgarro settimanale prediligo la pizza, pochissime volte un panino. Stavolta i miei amici avevano scelto di andare in questo posto e allora ho accettato, giusto per cambiare. La peculiarità di questo posto è che tutte le carni che vengono servite sono di auto produzione, ebbene si hanno un allevamento e allevano le proprie risorse per poi servirle ai clienti. Una bella realtà secondo me che va contro anche ai tanti fastfood i cibo spazzatura in cui non sappiamo neanche da dove provengono i prodotti. Devo dire che era tutto ottimo, ma ho fatto fatica a finire tutto. E quando dico che ho fatto fatica intendo dire che ho fatto davvero fatica, una fatica immane. Comunque voleva lasciarvi anche una riflessione personale. Non sono vegetariano, ne tanto meno vegano. Mangio tutto. Ma, l'unica cosa che mi preme è stare attento all'ambiente ed alla sostenibilità. Quindi quando posso limito il consumo di carne, che sia bianca o rossa, e prediligo i legumi o prodotti derivati dal latte e ogni tanto mi piace anche assaggiare prodotti vegetariani e/o vegani. Ma comunque la carne la consumo, sto solo attento a non consumarne troppa e a limitare i danni. Questo perchè, oltre che per un fatto etico di cui molti parlano ( sono animali btw), noi sappiamo che per ogni allevamento intensivo e non che abbiamo di animali destinati al consumo umano, le emissioni di CO2 nell'aria sono di proporzioni inaudite. Quindi sarebbe anche l'ora di smetterla con questo inquinamento. Ultimamente mi sta balzando in mente la possibilità di provare questi prodotti nuovi di cui tutti parlano ma che tutti categoricamente rifuitano: i grilli. Mamma mia... i Grilli! Beh, mi piacerebbe provare per poterne parlare in prima persona e per avere una mia opinione personale. Ma ho letto in giro che bisognerebbe iniziare gradualmente, quindi la mia scelta ricadrebbe su un prodotto da forno che utilizzi una percentuale bassa di farina di grilli giusto per iniziare. E perchè no... magari una pizza. Per ora resta solo un'idea, seppur folle, ma non escludo nessuna possibilità futura. Magari è buono... se non assaggiamo non possiamo giudicare! ***
